I figured out how to give my drawings more SPARKLE and Breath by accentuating the contrasts in my line drawings. Before I was trying to do this in Photoshop with "unsharp mask." However now I have figured out how to do this in the GIMP by adjusting the "Adjust Color Curves" in two dimensions:
Adjusting contrasts in two dimensions --
GIMP>Colors>Curves...
I scanned the original in color mode
(not black and white)
After, with a new GIMP adjustment
- The two variations above get different results from the reverse image search of Google Lens
I then used this approach on drawings from old blog posts:
I was editing my drawings in Photoshop Elements until September 6, 2024. Then I switched to editing them in the free GIMP and XnView.
