CNM Big TESSELLATION Prints

On Monday, November 10, 2025, we made THREE MORE BIG TESSESLLATION LINOCUT PRINTS at the community college in Albuquerque, the westside CNM campus:

Scott, Aaron Bass (the instructor) and Ellie Weadock,
pulling the big collaborative tessellation print

These were from four of the big linocuts-- from Virgil Velasco, Henry Morales, Ellie Weadock and Julie Sola -- that we had originally printed with a steamroller at the Southwest Print Fiesta 2025, and later at the Open House at Remarque Print Workshop in Albuquerque:

FIRST PRINT

The first print was from the three linocuts of the Albuquerque Dream Team, who previously worked together in 2024 to make a big collaborative print with BIG INK:

We used three Cranfield Safe Wash Relief Inks:

The second print was from big linocuts by Virgil Velasco and Julie Sola:

THIRD PRINT

We pulled a third print on black Somerset paper, using Cranfield Caligo Safe Wash Relief Ink Soft Shades. The linocuts were from Ellie Weadock and Julie Sola:

OTHER PRINTS

and half done print by Ellie

Scott painted liquid tusche onto the silk screen,
before covering it with screen blocker

I also learned that CNM and UNM used the Ecotex AP BLUE photo emulsion to coat their silkscreens. This emulsion can be used out of the container -- it is not a two part emulsion that has to be mixed first.  Moreover Aaron said that it keeps pretty well, as long as there are not large temperature swings.  Probably still best to store it in the refrigerator:
