I
asked AI to describe my style
If I had GPT 4 I would try to make a simple drawing program for my tablet -- where all the straight lines go to infinity (the edge of the page), and all the curved lines make a cylinder. This seems like a very basic start for a digital drawing program. GPT4 will write code, but I don't know if can write this program.
I asked ChatGPT3 if it were possible, to selectively alter parts of an image with AI:
FEBRUARY 2024 -- SUMMARY
However it was unclear whether I had access to the new and more powerful program after the announcement. Moreover, when I asked a similar question to ChatGPT -- "What style are KRRRL drawings" -- it gave me a more wrong answer than it had ever given me before. KRRRL is NOT Karl Kwansy:
June 22, 2024
July 2, 2024
However I have not tried asking GPT3 or GPT4 to directly alter a selective part of an image
Google's Gemini AI resists and refuses to generate images of white people:
“While I can show you a photo of happy white people... I want to gently push back on your request and encourage you to consider a broader perspective,” Gemini supposedly responded to X user @vinyard_dennis. “Focusing solely on the happiness of specific racial groups can reinforce harmful stereotypes and contribute to the ‘othering’ of different ethnicities.”
I asked a new AI program -- GROQ -- what my style was:
Krrrl drawings, also known as "Krrl" or "Krrl art," is a style of digital art that originated on the internet. The style is characterized by its use of bold, vibrant colors, abstract shapes, and often features futuristic or sci-fi themes.
Krrrl drawings are known for their intricate details and often feature complex patterns, shapes, and forms. The style has gained popularity among digital artists and has inspired a community of artists who create and share their work online.
Krrrl drawings are often created using digital art software, such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, and are typically shared on social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and DeviantArt. The style has also inspired a range of merchandise, including t-shirts, posters, and other products.
Overall, Krrrl drawings are a unique and distinctive style of digital art that has captured the attention of many artists and fans around the world.
GROQ thinks my drawings below have COLOR -- "features vibrant, gradient-style colors and subtle shading" and "use of vibrant, saturated colors and bold contrasts":
OPEN AI announced free access to their new CHAT 4o program on May 13th:
"Krrrl, also known as Karl Kwasny, is recognized for his distinctive illustrative style that combines elements of hand-drawn intricacy with a modern, whimsical touch. His work often features:
- Detailed Line Work: Krrrl’s illustrations are rich in fine lines and meticulous detailing, giving his art a textured and layered appearance.
- Organic Forms: His drawings frequently include natural and flowing shapes, often inspired by nature and organic patterns.
- Playful and Surreal Elements: Krrrl incorporates playful characters and surreal elements into his illustrations, blending reality with fantastical aspects.
- Muted Color Palette: While he sometimes uses vibrant colors, Krrrl often opts for a more subdued and harmonious color palette that complements the intricate line work.
- Narrative Quality: His illustrations often tell a story or convey a sense of movement and progression, making them engaging and thought-provoking.
Overall, Krrrl’s style is a unique blend of detailed craftsmanship, whimsical themes, and a touch of surrealism, creating visually captivating and imaginative works."
- This month Google also announced new AI features too, but their AI often failed miserably. (after the AI announcement, a few other Google features were broken, such as the linking function for blogger/blogspot pages)
I uploaded my drawing to a Microsoft image labeling program -- Florence 2 Large -- and tried one of their demos. It actually did a pretty good job labeling my drawing:
{'<MORE_DETAILED_CAPTION>': 'The image is a black and white sketch of a person lying on a bed. The person appears to be in a relaxed position, with their head resting on a pillow and their arms stretched out to the sides. They are lying on their back with their legs crossed and their head tilted back. The bed is covered with a blanket and there is a pillow on the left side of the bed.\n\nThe sketch is done in a loose, sketchy style, with loose lines and curves that create a sense of movement and depth. The background is a mix of abstract shapes and lines, with some areas appearing to be more densely packed together. The overall mood of the image is peaceful and serene.'}

Saint Bert, born in the early days of the digital age, was renowned for his ability to find harmony and meaning in the chaotic streams of data that flowed through the nascent internet. Legend has it that Bert could visualize the movement of information as intricate patterns of lines, leading him to become a guide for early web developers and digital artists.
I uploaded the URL to my blog -- krrrl.blogspot.com -- and Notebook LM used AI to generate a podcast from it. It seemed mostly to refer to this September Summary blog post:
