JULY SUMMARY -- 2025

In July I continued to draw the figure with China Markers, trying to get darker lines; I trained on the ShopSabre to CNC stiff foam into tessellation pieces for quick printmaking; and I asked AI to improve my old drawings, as well as using double AI to generate entirely FAKE FAKE drawings in my style:

DRAWINGS

PRINTS

The big event was pulling tessellation prints with JULIE SOLA in her studio -- FAT CROW PRESS -- in Las Vegas, New Mexico on July 24th, 2025:

MARY TEICHMAN sent us a tessellation linocut from Vermont. She ran a printmaking workshop that I went to in 2017:

AARON at Quelab also cast my tessellation linocut in plaster, with the idea of making a slip casting of it, to make a ceramic tile:

ADAM BERMAN printed a t-shirt for me during the ABQ Artwalk in downtown Albuquerque on July 11th, and then spraying "Unicorn Tears" (Clorox) around the prints to turn the black t-shirt color into orange:

I exhibited BUCKET EXHIBITION prints in a DISK RACK again, during the drawing session at FUSION on July 9th:

I trained on the ShopSabre at Quelab in order to CNC more Curvy Tessellation tiles. which we use to make prints like during the ATOMIC 66 Open House:

I laser cut two more piles
of "hat" tessellation linocuts on July 31st

Barbara Endicott showed me how to make two color reduction prints from Styrofoam:

I also updated the BUCKET EXHIBITIONS blogs with all the latest EXQUISITE TESSELLATION Prints:

AI ART

It's hard to get Midjourney to animate one of my drawings because that subscription service usually censors my figure drawings:

I used AI to improve/alter the OLDEST DRAWINGS from this blog -- those made in Texas in March 2010 -- using a KREA AI model based on the drawings from my book:

I also updated/improved/altered old ABSTRACT drawings with KREA AI:

Midjourney has no problem animating my abstract drawings:

FAKE FAKE KRRRL Drawings -- from double AI treatments -- that I did not draw at any stage:

Meanwhile, this month I have been pushing my figure drawings through KREA and Deep Dream Generator, trying to improve them:

However AI makes my figure drawings more concrete, which has not always been my objective. I have wanted my figure drawings to be ambiguous and blend into space -- ultimately to deliver "two different mutually exclusive images at once."  AI might be pushing me in the wrong direction.

LENTICULAR

LENTICULAR Images do deliver "two different mutually exclusive images at once."  Adric added my AI generated javelina animation to his Walgreen's order, to make a Lenticular Javelina:

Adric ordered some individual lenticular images -- from ACTION PICTURES -- of my AI Portrait drawing, in both business card and a larger 5x5 inch size:

  • I plan to submit the larger 5x5 inch lenticular portrait to the FRIDAY NIGHT FACES portrait exhibition coming up in September.

OTHER

Ray LaRive had her opening at FOMA -- Fear of Missing Art -- gallery in Santa Fe on July 12, 2025:

I finally scanned in one of my dad's old comics from 1949, and altered and animated it with AI:
