Busy April in review

During the Covid 19 shelter-in-place in April 2020,  I was busy pushing my drawings through all the free art software I could find online, and creating 🎵YouTube playlists🎵.

Lots of kaleidoscope-like pattern backgrounds

I started the month by outlining gesture drawings in old newsprint pads, and making PNG files from them with transparent backgrounds.  The transparent PNG files are easy to collage in Photoshop Elements.

PNG files

Below are links to the best PNG files this month (with transparent backgrounds), and everyone is encouraged to make their own compositions.  Just click on the thumbnail image and download the larger file.

All 52 of the large PNG files on this blog post can be downloaded here in one zip file (19.83 MB).

  • The FBX files are animation files made in Mixamo, and can be uploaded and viewed online in Creators 3D.

Free Softwares

These are on the free art softwares I used to push my drawings in April 2020:

Free online programs:
3D
*free, but registration required to use program

Free downloadable programs:
  • XnView (for organizing and editing image files)
  • LView Pro (downloaded image editing software -- key: right click exe file, and "run as administrator," license ID 486-434-128-136)

I also used Photoshop Elements extensively.  It is not free, but also not too expensive on Amazon.   I have not tried the Gimp, which is a free download, and is supposed to do a lot of the same things that Photoshop does.

I also downloaded Blender 2.82a, with the anticipation of pushing my drawings even further through free 3D software.
