I worked for Tanya Rich to put on the Tucson Sculpture Festival 2015.

The Arizona Daily Star newspaper wrote an article before the festival (with even a mention on the front page).  The Sonoran Arts Network blog reviewed us. Michael McNulty took some beautiful photos:

A few gallery shots without the crowds:

Jeremy from Xerocraft  used the Occipital scanner to 3D scan some of the sculptures, which we posted on SketchFab.

PRINT TO SCULPTURE

"My Wicked Pony" by John Paul Gutierrez started as a silkscreen print (using an image posted to Instagram)...

Metalphysic foundry created a 3D image of the silkscreen using Zbrush software, and 3D printed it at Shapeways, for us to display at the sculpture festival (we still can make a bronze casting from the 3D print):

We also uploaded the digital file to SketchFab, where anyone can twirl it around on their computer screen.

We added a QR code next to the label on the sculpture stand.  That way visitors could scan the QR code, and twirl the "virtual" sculpture around on their cell phone.

Update (Sep 16, 2015):

John Paul's 3D print was cast into bronze at the MetalPhysic foundry in Tucson:

We also 3D scanned Marcus Robiason's piece (with the Occipital scanner), and uploaded it to SketchFab.

Xerocraft is also experimenting with the Matter and Form 3D scanner, which can scan smaller sculptures with better resolution.

The Tucson Sculpture Festival 2015 runs until Valentine's Day, February 14th.
