I drew at two studios in Albuquerque, meeting from 6:30 - 9:30 PM -- first at Art Buddies, and second at Henry Morales' studio:

I laser engraved the drawing onto a coated aluminum business card.  Now we have to see if the aluminum will "etch" with gallium enough for intaglio printmaking, for the Open Press Print Exchange 2023:

UPDATE (Dec 10):  Adric tried to "etch" the exposed aluminum with gallium, but it did not work:

"Well i dont know if it did anything. my first round, i tried i could not get the gallium to stick at all. so i got a small buffing wheel, and gave it a ruffing up. after that the gallium kinda stuck, but later on there was no change in the gallium or card. so i decided to put a big blob on the head of it. and left that overnight. it too did not diffuse into the aluminum. and just came off once it had cold down to below its melting point. I took a photo of the ART bus stop in front of Little Bear Coffee in Nob Hill (Albuquerque) and uploaded it to Midjourney with the prompt: "in the style of Route 66":

The AI transformations brought me back to the Albuquerque of the 60s:

Meanwhile an artist I admire, and friend, Norm Rosenberger is having an open studio in Bolinas, California:
