Drawn at 3rd Street Arts in Albuquerque:

7 x 7 inches
Unetched

Etched for 10 minutes
and printed with Akua Raw Umber intaglio ink --
not wiped very well,
printed on Oct 21

At the end of the session, with:
homemade scribe, made by Dennis Liberty
(from a nail and a pin vise),
and the white Stabilo All
water soluble pencil I started with

I started an etching, by drawing, then scribing onto a copper plate with BIG grounds, while the model was posing.

I drew on the coated copper plate

Then I washed off the white water soluble pencil,
and drew on the coated plate with a scribe,
to scratch the black off the plate
and expose the copper

The final plate will be submerged in
Ferric Chloride  for at least 30 minutes,
to "bite" the exposed copper,
etching lines into the plate

What the print might look like,
after being etched and running through the press

Kirsten Del Barga
did this wonderful drawing
of all the participants at the drawing session
