Image Transfer

One can easily transfer a drawing onto a copper plate with hard grounds, by running a that plate and a drawing through the press.

CHARCOAL PENCIL ON BIG GROUNDS

The charcoal drawing transferred beautifully onto the copper plate with red BIG grounds.

Transferred drawing onto BIG grounds

GRAPHITE PENCIL
ON TRADITIONAL HARD GROUNDS

The pencil drawing on paper

Place the drawing
on top of a copper plate with hard grounds

Place a piece of CARDBOARD
over the copper and drawing,
to distribute the pressure evenly when going through the press

The transferred drawing,
ready to be scribed into the ground

I have a feeling that the same process can be used to transfer a drawing on to a sheet of linoleum, before carving a relief print
