We drew and printed at Sir Henry Morales' studio in Albuquerque:

  • KREA is down today because someone cut their fiber optic cables, so I could not alter my drawings with their AI

The same model posed for a pastel portrait by Marilyn Drake, which was recently hanging in the Pastel Society of New Mexico Exhibition at the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos/Prado:

PRINTMAKING

We used the Styrofoam disc plates from Taos and the Juan Tabo Library to print on an apron, using an antique book press:

The printed apron looked great!

The Reveal!

The Styrofoam discs printed really well, way better than we expected.  However we may not be able to use them again.  The antique press flatten them out pretty severely, and the fabric ink did not wash off well.

We've printed from Styrofoam plates before, and got pretty good results, such as this masterpiece by Robert Atkinson:

In Mexico they made a huge steamroller print from large Styrofoam plates in 2021:

MADA

The next printmaking event will be on the grounds Santa Fe Art Institute on Saturday, June 14th, 1- 4 PM, as part of a MADA event:

Ellie made a check list for future print events:

The "BUCKET" List

It looks like we might have reversed the from the little ones, though that probably won't make any difference:

might be "mirrored" from the little ones

FRANCISCO DELGADO is having an opening at HECHO A MANO gallery in Santa Fe on Friday, June 6th -- and a Donut Talk on Saturday, June 7th, 12 - 1:30 PM:
