I managed to blend Printmaking and AI ART in the ALBU-BRIJE Print project, launching during the Grand Re-Opening of Quelab, with Augmented Reality that even carried over into El Paso in July 2026. This month went too fast:

PRINTMAKING

We had a busy printmaking month -- highlighted by the ALBU-BRIJE Print Project -- where we made our Albuquerque versions of ALEBRIJES, inspired by the 8 big Oaxaca ALEBRIJE & NAHUALES sculptures in downtown Albuquerque (June 1st to July 22nd, 2026):

I scanned the ALBU-BRIJE prints and drawings, and used AI to them color and turn them into digital 3D objects. We then put those colored 3D ALBU-BRIJES into AUGMENTED REALITY, and took screen shots of them next to the REAL ALIBRIJES:

3D GAUSSIAN SPLATS

I used an AI computer at Quelab to convert 2D files into 3D Gaussian Splats in ComfyUI using TripoSplat. However the 3D Gaussian Splats have to be hosted on a server in order to share them with other people (as they are not as easy to share as GLB files):

We used two kinds of AUGMENTED REALITIES -- MINDAR and <model-viewer> -- to conjure colored 3D ALBU-BRIJES in real world environments:

FALSE AI CLAIM

MIDJOURNEY decided that my drawing -- in my original drawing style -- was done by somebody else. This is scary when AI can take your original art away from you. What else is AI filtering out? And whose drawing does AI think did this anyhow?
