October 4, 2022

The Tuesday Night drawing group of Santa Fe drew both in person and on Zoom at the new Argos Gallery/Studio location. They arranged a hybrid real/virtual drawing session because we are still coming out of Covid.

Maybe not the best variations
from Deep Dream Generator,
but more interesting together than separate

I uploaded my drawing to Photofunia to put it in the Brussels Museum.  Then I uploaded that result (image on the left) to "Text 2 Dream" in Deep Dream Generator, and got the image on the right.  I put them both together, side by side, in the "same museum":

Then I uploaded the above image, of both of the paintings side by side, to "Text 2 Dream" in Deep Dream Generator, and got the bland scene below:

The ultimate "Text 2 Dream" interpretation of my drawing was a little too realistic:

"Man sitting on the floor"

refried again in the same program (right)

Experiment

Holly Grimm was drawing quick gesture drawings in Blender and sent me one in Zoom (using the "chat" function).  I then uploaded that to the "Text 2 Dream" feature of Deep Dream Generator with the prompt "Pencil drawing of two human figures."

Last Sunday (October 2nd) I attended the 5th Annual Woman's Art Show at the National Hispanic Cultural Center.  There I bought a catalog from Diana Molina of the "Icons and Symbols of the Borderland" of the Juntos Art Association exhibition which she organized and has been touring for the last several years. There is also a YouTube video of Diana Molina presenting this catalog posted by Eastern New Mexico University.

This exhibition is currently showing at the Las Cruces Museum of Art.  Previously I've seen the exhibition in both El Paso (2016) and San Antonio (2017).
