Printing Tessellations with Henry

We pulled three new Collaborative Color EXQUISITE TESSELLATION Prints at Sir Henry Morales' studio on January 13, 2026.  Henry is having an exhibition at the Juan Tabo Public Library in Albuquerque in February -- like he did last year -- and wanted to included his printmaking posse:

We hand printed three

We printed in Color!

We hand printed with glass barens --
two from Iron Frog, two Antique door knobs,
and a blue glass paper weight

to get fresh ink in the tube

Karl's print comes out first in the reveal --

Henry used a textured bumpy roller
(that he found at a swap meet)
to ink an uncut linoleum tile with red texture

Pressing the paper down onto the linocuts

Rubbing the glass baren onto the paper --
notice that you can see the image coming through
the other side of the Kitakata paper

REVISION

Later we added a half-disc print -- the red bird by Virgil Velasco -- to the edge of the paper to balance out the composition:

with a half disc image added to the edge

Contemplating all the prints,
before deciding to revise the second print

Virgil printed with a glass baren, with a paper towel
over the unprinted part of the linocut disc

Virgil printed only half

The FINAL 3 Prints!

***

Henry Morales carved three new EXQUISITE TESSELLATION tessellation linocuts for the session.  He even cut out one of the tessellation shapes with scissors:

Henry Morales also pulled this fish print
at the end of the session
