We returned to Tortilla Print in Santa Fe, for the opening of the Oaxaca printmaker Alberto Cruz at Hecho A Mano gallery, at the top of Canyon Road, on August 27, 2021, 5 - 7 PM:

Alberto Cruz did not make it to his opening, however I did meet him in 2017 at Burro Press in Oaxaca:

9 New Linocuts

Five Santa Fe artists gave us linocuts to print:
In total we printed 9 new linocuts on the Tortilla Press during the two hour opening.

LOS TRES GATOS

Los Tres Gatos (Xavier Moreno and Alejandra Mares) from Guadalajara sent us two more round linocuts to print.  They had also sent two other round linocuts for the printing events earlier this month in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe.  Moreover they pioneered the Tortilla Press concept that we used:

The round prints arrived from Guadalajara via FedEx,

Other Printing that Week

Horned Toad Prints also did live printing at the Casa Ortiz gallery in Socorro (south of El Paso) the night before for Francisco Delgado's closing, on August 26th.

On Wednesday Horned Toad Prints delivered an edition of a portrait print of Juan Sandoval to his memorial.  Juan Sandoval was an art collector from El Paso who collected works from Horned Toad prints.  He donated his collection to Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin, which was exhibited until the end of August.  Juan Sandoval passed away earlier this year in January.
