June 21, 2022

The Tuesday Night drawing group of Santa Fe drew both in person and on Zoom at the new Argos Gallery/Studio location. They arranged a hybrid real/virtual drawing session because we are still coming out of Covid. I drew south from Albuquerque, someone else drew north from Taos; and someone else drew way north from Wisconsin.

Animations:

I am wondering if I could use Augmented Reality to overlay these animations on the static image.  Specifically I would like to do this with a relief print image.  I think the experience would be more powerful if the background of the animation were transparent, if that were possible.

Off-Centereds:

So naturally I had to transfer that style and colors to one of my drawings:

Just to be cheeky, I transferred the style of the Ascii art in the "Solidity Contract Code" to my drawing:

The Ascii style does not nullify the ephemeral flavor of my aesthetic.  I'm thinking of naming my next book -- "85 Drawings in Astatine Space" -- after the rarest and ephemeral element Astatine (85).

Lasercut Variations

I cut the above drawing out on the LaserPecker (on a 76x76 mm wood square):

Cut twice
100% power, 15 depth

Cut once
100% power, 30 depth

Just for fun
I'm always trying to convert 2D to 3D

I liked the result of my drawings in thin Ascii style, so I tried it again.

I like the added gravity
of the light Ascii-ish background touch,
giving it more (although shallow) 3D space
