JANUARY SUMMARY -- 2026

I pushed my figure drawings of January 2026 through both past computer programs and new AI Art programs.  We also did a bit of printmaking for Henry Morales' exhibition at the Juan Tabo Public Library in Albuquerque:

I said that my drawing style was "RESISTING GRAVITY" rather than capturing light...during a drawing discussion:

PRINTMAKING

Henry Morales had an exhibition at the Juan Tabo Public Library in Albuquerque in February, so we printed and framed for that show:

I laser cut another image into the same metal mesh silk screen. Rather than reclaiming the screen, I just squeegee-ed another layer of emulsion on the old screen, filling in the holes:

TEN YEARS AGO -- on the last day of January, 31st 2016 -- our DESERT TRIANGLE PRINT CARPETA opened at the El Paso Museum of Art:

We retired two Desert Triangle URLS:
  • DesertTriangle dot com (https://deserttriangle.blogspot.com/p/the-prints.html)
  • DesertAugment dot com (https://deserttriangle.blogspot.com/p/augmented-reality.html)

Also I wrote to DAVID SMITH, who discovered the Aperiodic Monotile (the solution to the Ein Stein problem). I let him know about all the collaborative tessellation printmaking we did last year with the shape he discovered.  And he emailed me back.

Plus there was an ERNEST DeSOTO exhibition at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth in January -- Ernest DeSoto Master Printer.  Ernest reviewed all the prints for the Ambos Lados International Print Exchange, and we dedicated the catalog to him.

AI ART

I used Midjourney to generate Moiré images that moves when you look at them:

My goal this month was to push my drawings through both these old and new computer programs:
