Drawn at the West End Art Depot in Las Cruces:

I was in El Paso earlier that day, and attended a print workshop by Cynthia Evans and the Honey Guide Gallery inside of Joe Vinny and Bronson's cafe:

I have commissioned 31 artists to make an edition of 50 large prints, 22 x 30 inches.  This will keep me busy the rest of the summer.  A group of El Paso/Juarez artists are getting their prints done in Mexico City at Taller 75 Grados.

Drawn at Deb3321 in Los Angeles:

An unexpected surprise:  the model was Andrew  Cahner, author of The Art Model's Handbook.

On the  Art Model's Handbook website, Andrew maintains a list of figure drawing sessions in the US and Canada.  I have been mining his website since I started this drawing blog, to find drop-in figure drawing sessions across the country.  Thank you very much, Andrew Cahner!

We saw the Estampas de la Raza exhibition at the Vincent Price Art Museum, and bought some some prints by Pavel Acevedo on our excellent trip to Baja Califas.

April 16, 2015

Drawn at the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts in San Antonio (Pompeo Coppini sculpted the Alamo monument in downtown San Antonio):

I came out to San Antonio to see the exhibition of steam roller prints, at the ex-Museo Alameda in downtown San Antonio. :

I had a small part in the steam roller prints
that were done at the Chalk the Block 2014 festival,
in El Paso

While I was there, I showed a selection of prints from the YayBig Southwest collection, during Second Saturdays in San Antonio (April 11).  Kim Bishop and Luis Valderas let me show in front of their "Art to the 3rd Power" gallery, in the Gallista Gallery complex:

Then I moved on to Houston, and was impressed with the "It Came from the Bayou" print fair the next weekend (April 17, 18, 19), where they did 50 steam roller prints between 11 am and 3 pm:
