Drawn at Art Buddies in Albuquerque (I left early):

ABSTRACT AI

I drew this abstract drawing, and then worked it through a lot of AI to get results...that had little to do with my original drawing:

My initial abstract drawing
before any AI treatments

The abstract drawing above
passed through multiple AI treatments

Midjourney has a new feature where they will let one "re-texture" an image that one uploads -- so I uploaded my abstract drawing and "re-textured" it with prompts referring to other artists:

prompt: "drawing by Giacometti"

prompt: "drawing by Ingres"

prompt: "drawing by R Crumb"

PRINTS

Joe Marshall sent me photos from Tucson of the new tessellation tile prints he carved:

Previous announcement from Joe Marshall at the Heart of The Sun Gallery in Tucson:

  • I got an email from Xerocraft makerspace on November 12th.  It looks like I can send them a stack of linoleum, and they will laser cut it into "hat" tiles for me.  Then Joe Marshall can pick them up for our EXQUISITE TESSELLATION Print project
  • I also left a stack of linoleum at the UNM Printmaking Department, if they would like to laser cut some "hat" tiles
  • And on November 13th I should be laser cutting some "hat" tiles with a private laser cutter in Albuquerque
    • (Plus there is a stack of linoleum to laser cut at UTEP in El Paso)

Side Busting -- on ABQ Dia De Los Muertos

Henry Morales side busted on Albuquerque's first downtown DIA DE LOS MUERTOS PARADE on November 9, 2024, 4 - 10 PM, to sell prints in the plaza at the Civic Center. So we side busted on Henry to make an EXQUISITE TESSELLATION Print:

Henry Morales' print set-up
at the Dia De Los Muertos Parade
in downtown Albuquerque on November 9, 2024

This "inaugural" event was sponsored by Dia De Los Muertos USA and the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, featuring almost exclusively corporate booths from businesses like Telemundo, Presbyterian Hospital, Blue Shield and Bank of America. However the more home grown MUERTOS Y MARIGOLDS PROCESSION AND CELEBRATION has been going on for over a decade in Albuquerque's South Valley.

We hand printed one EXQUISITE TESSELLATION Print:

Everyone had packed up and left once the parade was over, before 8 PM, though the event was scheduled to go on until 10 PM.

MUERTOS Y MARIGOLDS
 PROCESSION AND CELEBRATION

The MUERTOS Y MARIGOLDS PROCESSION AND CELEBRATION went on the weekend before, November 3rd, 2024, which I blogged about.  This event has been going on in Albuquerque's South Valley for more than a decade:
