Urban Sketching in Albuquerque

I went sketching with the landscape architects in downtown Albuquerque on Saturday morning, April 27th, 2019.  The event was sponsored by ANOVA Furnishings (out of St Louis) and the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects), and lead by a local, Ken RomigRoland Penttila gave us a historical tour of the buildings as we drew.

which was originally a Hilton hotel,

We all met at Humble Coffee downtown at 9:30 AM
(in the old Sears Building, designed by John Gaw Meem)

gave us the history of the Kimo Theatre

The night before I went to the opening at Evoke Contemporary for the "Interlopers: 2019 Works on Paper" exhibition.  Bob Richardson's drawings were in the exhibit; Bob helps John Tollett run the Tuesday Night Drawing Group at Argos Gallery.

Of course, I had to bomb Bob's opening, by hanging one of my bad drawings at the Evoke exhibition (there was a space for the public to draw and post their spontaneous drawings).

Update (May 26):  Bob Richardson's drawings were reviewed in an article about the exhibition in THE Magazine of Santa Fe, by Sarah Bradley.
